9. Minors Policy

9.1 Definition & Minimum Age: For the purposes of this policy, a minor is defined as any individual under the age of eighteen (18) years.

The minimum age for entry to Club One Bahamas facilities is thirteen (13) years. Individuals under the age of thirteen (13) are not permitted access to the gym floor, equipment areas, or general Club facilities under any circumstances.

9.2 Supervision Requirement: All minor members aged thirteen (13) to seventeen (17) must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged eighteen (18) or older at all times while on Club premises. The accompanying adult must remain physically present on the gym floor and actively supervise the minor throughout the session. Presence elsewhere within the facility does not constitute adequate supervision.

9.3 Responsibility of Supervising Adult: The accompanying adult assumes full responsibility for the minor’s conduct, safety, and physical wellbeing during the visit. Any injury, incident, or breach of Club rules involving a minor shall be the responsibility of the supervising adult.

9.4 Use of Equipment: Supervising adults must ensure that minors use equipment, weights, and exercises appropriate to their age, size, and experience. Heavy lifting, maximal loading, and high-impact exercises are discouraged unless performed under proper supervision and guidance. Inappropriate use or excessive loading may result in suspension or termination of membership.

9.5 Staff Authority: Club One Bahamas staff reserve the right to intervene at any time. This includes requesting modification or cessation of any activity, or requiring a minor to leave the gym floor if, in the reasonable judgment of staff, the activity presents a risk to the minor’s safety or wellbeing.

9.6 Parental Consent: A signed parental or legal guardian consent waiver is required prior to a minor’s first use of Club facilities. This waiver must be renewed annually and confirms acknowledgment of:

  • The inherent risks of gym use

  • The responsibilities of the supervising adult
